The best way to order your medication is now via the NHS app. Please ensure you download this, details of which can be found here: NHS App and your NHS account - NHS (www.nhs.uk)
All repeat prescriptions will be issued within 72 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays) of a request. We would recommend you submit your repeat request 7 days before you are due to run out to allow the community pharmacy to dispense it.
Most repeat prescriptions now go direct to your pharmacy of choice electronically although there are some drugs that still have to be issued on a paper prescription. Pharmacies will require more time to dispense your prescription from the time they receive the prescription due to the process and whether they need to order some of the items into stock. Please discuss with your pharmacy how long they need to process your prescription.
Systmonline (Airmid) or NHS APP
Systmonline or the NHS App allows you to be able to request repeat prescriptions online without even having to speak to someone or leave your home. I
Trowbridge POD is a limited service intended to serve those patients which are unable to order their medication online via the practice website or through the NHS app. The Trowbridge POD will not be taking prescription requests via email with the phone lines open for a brief period of time between 10.00am and 1.00pm Monday to Friday. The phone lines will only be staffed by a few members of our prescriptions team and will have a strict limit on the number of callers able to queue. If you are eligible to be provided with the telephone number for this service, we respectfully request that you do not share this information with other patients, as we have a very limited capacity to provide this service.
To ensure the best possible knowledge of your personal health, repeat prescriptions will be signed by your usual GP wherever possible.
If you require any other medication that is not on your repeat list then you will need to discuss this with the GP first.
Please do not over order medication. Some studies have shown that 25% of prescribed medication is wasted, so please think first before ordering.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will need to be reviewed at least once a year. Please speak to our prescription clerk who will advise you of any tests you may require, ie blood tests or blood pressure check. If you need a consultation, this may be carried out with a clinician face to face or over the telephone. Your medication review will line up with your birth month each year.
